Class Trips

Great learning is to be had out and about! Whilst away from school it is a great way to gain knowledge from experts in the community and take part in learning experiences that would not be possible at school.

Beach Education Day

After some early morning showers, we all held our breath as to what the day would bring in terms of weather for our Beach Education day. We were not disappointed when the clouds parted to give us a fantastic day in which to learn about safety at the beach. After meeting Lisa, Evie and Anna (our lifeguards), we were taken on a grand tour of the club. After viewing the equipment and the lookout areas we were able to see how efficient and organised our lifesavers are. Sun smart discussions, resuscitation protocols and surviving rips were also part of our morning programme. We had some fun activities on the beach (Mr P narrowly beating Curt in the sprint home) and hit the waves with body boards and lifesaving equipment. After the parents got a good splashing by the students we thanked our wonderful hosts and returned to school. A great day had by all and a huge thanks to our parents for their help!
Investigating the IRB. Can you remember what the knife on board was for?
